Towards an enhanced analysis and visualization of ionospheric data:
Specialization for the Fennoscandian research infrastructure.

by Juan Araújo (Umeå University)

We present a specialized and interactive framework for the enhanced
exploration, interpretation and scientific analysis of spatio-temporal and
volumetric ionospheric data. Particularly, aiming at exploiting the
capabilities of the EISCAT_3D Incoherent Scatter Radar (ISR) systems in
combination with the Auroral Large Imaging System (ALIS 4D) and complementary
ground-based research infrastructure in the northern Fennoscandia region. Our
strategy is targeted at the monitoring process of adaptive experiments,
offering a fast decision-making through real-time data processing, employing a
wide range of analysis and visualization tools in order to interpret
ionospheric data. In the current talk, we describe our computational strategy,
present relevant case studies and showcase our visualization module for
displaying simultaneous ionospheric data in a relevant context.
