In contrast to our last planning month (July 1993), when we were to a large extent away from work, we expect to send out a plan for one week at a time during March 1994. The planning is based on and includes the following information: 1) Data taking orbits. We have included the ESS and PASS orbits according to the actual plan from FOC. 2) High TM-rate. Hi TM-rate is scheduled for 6 orbits/day, centered on the overlapping PASS/ESS orbits. High TM should always be switched on before AOS and switched off after LOS. 3) Burst. 2 burst passes/day are scheduled, at high latitudes, and coinciding with the high TM-rate. As usual, the trigger rotates between F1, F2, and F4. Following the discussions in Spitzingsee, we start by modifying the time of the forced trigger individually for each orbit. Other ways of doing the burst may follow in next week's plan. Thus, the burst should be done in the following way: PASS AOS+5min: Enable burst (NOTE: This is earlier than in the February 1994 plan) ESS LOS-Xmin: Force trig and dump burst. The value of X is given below for each burst orbit. 4) Special/standard orbits. We let F4 decide on the special modes, as before. 5) Survey mode. Also here, the sequence has been modified in light of the discussions in Spitzingsee. For the first week, we plan for one Survey/day, with 3 "Survey Coarse"/week and 4 "Survey Medium"/week. The "Survey Fine" has been deleted. Later on, there may be more than one Survey/day, if power permits. In the plan below, only the start time for the Survey is given, and the following table should be followed: Survey type: Abbrev: Duration: Medium SM 10 minutes Coarse SC Full orbit 6) Syowa. As usual, one pass/day except for weekends. At present, we know of no special Syowa campaign. 7) We have changed the appearance of the table again, and included much less detail. We plan to distribute information on ground station conjunctions, both optical and radar, in a separate document, since this information is not necessary for the operations at Esrange. 8) Cancellation order.
