Science projects

• Rosetta. ESA's comet hunter, launched in 2004, explored comet Churyomov-Gerasimenko in 2014-2016.
  
• Principal Investigator for LAP, the Rosetta Langmuir probe instrument.
• Lots of good science to explore in the data! With Niklas Edberg, Erik Vigren, Ilka Engelhardt, Elias Odelstad, Fredrik Johansson, and all the other people involved in the LAP team and the wider RPC community.
• With a series of project and PhD students, e.g. Alex Sjögren and Fredrik Johansson I work on measurement issues, like how to obtain useful density estimates also in tenuous plasmas.
  
• Comet ion tail encounters (student projects with Sofie Spjuth and Ilona Alexandersson).
• Mars flyby data analysis with Niklas Edberg and others.
  
• Cluster. Much of what I do is related to our Electric Fields and Waves instrument (EFW) on ESA's four Cluster satellites.
  
• My main scientific interests on Cluster have been cold plasma and electric field measurements.
• Every week, I plan the operations of the EFW instrument on Cluster.
• We developed a Langmuir probe system for each of ESAs three Swarm spacecraft, launched in 2013.
• With Stephan Buchert, Reine Gill and others, I have worked on instrument design, performance and data analysis issues.
• MMS.
  • Magnetospheric Multi-Scale Mission, a NASA mission of four spacecraft for which we provided parts of the electric field instrument.
    
  • In particular, I was involved in E-field probe surface coating with LoosTec AB.
• Freja, Viking and Astrid-2. The data from our previous instruments are still very useful.
• Investigations of lower hybrid cavities.
